AUTISM EVALUATION

Do you do autism testing?

Yes, we do perform Autism testing. There are many types of exams that can be done for Autism. We specifically offer a test for Autism called the ADOS-2.

What is ADOS-2 test

The name ADOS-2 stands for Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule™, Second Edition. It is a semi-structured, standardized assessment for the diagnosis of Autism.

What ages do you test Autism for

At our clinic, we specialize in testing children between the ages of 5 and 18 for autism using the ADOS test (Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule). It’s a standardized assessment tool specifically designed to help diagnose autism spectrum disorder (ASD) in individuals of all ages. However, for individuals older than 18 who are seeking an evaluation for autism, a regular psychiatric evaluation must be completed prior to undergoing ADOS testing.

We understand that it can be difficult to navigate the evaluation process for autism, especially for older individuals. Rest assured that our team of qualified professionals is here to guide you every step of the way and provide the support and resources you need.

Don’t wait, take the first step in understanding and supporting your loved one’s unique needs by scheduling an appointment for a psychiatric evaluation today. With our expertise in both regular psychiatric evaluations and the ADOS test, we are committed to providing a comprehensive evaluation to ensure the best possible outcome for your loved one.

What is the difference between a regular psychiatric evaluation and an ADOS test?

A regular psychiatric evaluation and the ADOS test (Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule) are both important tools in identifying and diagnosing autism.

A regular psychiatric evaluation is a comprehensive meeting between your child and a mental health professional. During this evaluation, the doctor will ask questions about your child’s symptoms, medical history, and daily life to gain a better understanding of how they are feeling and what may be causing any issues.

On the other hand, the ADOS test is a standardized assessment tool specifically designed to help diagnose autism spectrum disorder (ASD) in individuals of all ages. The test is a structured observation of your child’s behavior, communication, and social interaction in a standardized setting and is considered to be a reliable tool for assessing the presence of autism.

It’s important to note that while a regular psychiatric evaluation can be used to diagnose a wide range of mental health conditions, the ADOS test is specific to autism and is considered to be a gold standard for diagnosing autism.
