When is overeating problematic?

Most of us had times when we have eaten too much food like Thanksgiving. If overeating is problematic it is called Binge eating disorder(BED) and is a little different.
People suffering from Binge Eating Disorder feel like they can’t stop eating, even when they are uncomfortably full and eat even when they are not hungry.
What causes overeating problems?
When over eating is problematic it is called Binge Eating Disorder(BED). In the United States 3.5% of women (5.6 million) and 2% of men (3.1 million) have Binge Eating Disorder.
People with BED struggle in coping with emotions and use food as a way to comfort or reward themselves. When they diet, people with BED trigger backlash of binge eating.
What are symptoms of Binge Eating Disorder?
- Eat more than others in same situation
- Feel like you can’t control how much you eat
- Feel upset after overeating
- Have over eating episode once a week for at least 3 months on average
